When to use Split selection
A text box covers too much text.
You want to edit only a label like Name: or Total:.
PDF detection selects : value instead of the full field label.
OCR or PDF text extraction grouped multiple words together.
How it works
Double-click the problematic text fragment.
Select the substring you want to isolate inside the inline input.
Click Split selection.
CrabPDF replaces the original text item with smaller text items.
Now you can edit the isolated piece normally.
Private by design
CrabPDF is designed to run locally in your browser. The editing flow does not require uploading your PDF to a backend server. This makes it useful for quick local edits, OCR corrections, search and replace, and redaction experiments.
CrabPDF is experimental. Always verify important documents after editing or redaction.
